Our Story
LifeTone Studio was founded by April Thomas through a deeply personal caregiving journey as she supported her mother through dementia. While navigating the physical, emotional, and nervous system demands of caregiving, April began seeking restorative tools that could offer meaningful support not only for those receiving care, but for caregivers themselves.
But April’s relationship to sound began long before LifeTone Studio.
A lifelong musician since the age of seven, April is a trained pianist whose work has always been rooted in the transformative power of sound. At Wellesley College, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Japanese Studies and Economics, she was awarded the Hubert Weldon Lamb Prize in Composition, recognizing exceptional achievement in musical composition. She later earned a Bachelor of Music in Film Scoring and Jazz Composition from Berklee College of Music, where she deepened her understanding of music’s emotional, physiological, and narrative capacities.
What began as a personal search for healing evolved into a broader calling: to create intentional spaces where sound, vibration, and nervous system support could help individuals access deeper rest, recovery, and reconnection. Deeply inspired by the transformation she witnessed in her mother, and by the profound potential Vibroacoustic Therapy holds to impact the lives of others, April became a Certified Vibroacoustic Therapy Practitioner through VibroAcousticTherapy.com and fully committed herself to this work.
Today, April approaches LifeTone Studio not simply as a wellness business, but as an integrated expression of her lifelong relationship to music, healing, and restoration. Drawing from her background in composition, sound, caregiving, and nervous system regulation, she is committed to expanding awareness of Vibroacoustic Therapy, bringing restorative support into more homes and communities, and helping others experience the powerful intersection of sound, science, and wellness.
Her work is rooted in lived experience, professional training, artistic excellence, and a growing belief that restoration should be more accessible, evidence-informed, and grounded in genuine human care.
